History: This year marks our thirtieth anniversary of the Community Pride and Heritage group.
The purpose of the formation of our group was, and is, to promote and preserve the history and heritage of this great little town along the St. Clair River. If interested, membership is open to anyone, with an annual membership fee of
Some of the accomplishments are: the creation and development of the Nautical Milealong Water St., including the installation of the Peiche Island Lighthouse.
Built the gazebo located in the town square and re- naming it Heritage Square.
Saving the Emily Ward schoolhouse from demolition and converting it into the Community Pride and Heritage Museum.
Museum: The Museums artifact and archival collections bring Marine Citys history & heritage to life in three distinctive galleries.

Highlights of the exhibits include a 4 ½ by 36 foot diorama of the Belle River in 1885. When 5 shipyards were engaged in producing some of the finest ships on the Great Lakes; complete rooms with furnishings dating back 150 years; and a blacksmith shop built on the grounds of the Museum.
A research library collection is being developed which will contain material
pertaining to maritime, local and genealogy interests.
